SIMONNE DEVODDER
(nee VANDE VYVERE)
She will be missed and remembered lovingly by her daughters, Nancy Nilsson (Rick) and Judy Vermette (Don); grand-children, Craig (Melissa), Laura (Matt) and Kyle (Nicole); great-grandchildren, Jack, Amy, Tyler, Silas and another on the way in May; and many nieces and nephews.
Simonne was predeceased by her husband Butch; brothers, Daniel, Camille, Roger, Jules, and her parents, Albert and Irma Vande Vyvere.
Mom loved to take care of people. Coffee and dessert was always available for anyone who knocked on her door. All of her nieces and nephews will never forget "Aunty Simonne's candy cupboard" stocked with every candy imaginable and lots of chocolate. Mom enjoyed gardening so much so, that after Dad passed away she continued to grow an abundance of tomatoes, because he loved them, despite the fact that she hated them. Needless to say, everyone who would visit her left with a large bag of tomatoes. Mom loved to travel with her family and took all of us on many trips, Disney World, Hawaii, and Vegas, to name a few.
We would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses, aides, therapists, cleaning crew and general staff that Mom has had at Riverview through all the years; Jenny, Amanda, Jean, Angie and Monica to name a few. We will always be grateful for the attentive, loving care you gave her. When we could not be with her, we knew she was in your loving, capable hands.
In keeping with Mom's wishes, a funeral service will be held on Friday, November 8 at 11:00 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
Mom, it has been a long journey. Thank you for the many wonderful years. You will always be cherished, loved, and never forgotten. Rest In Peace.

We would like to extend out condolences to your families. We enjoyed having her as a neighbour and talking to her across the fence. She gave us her treasured lady slippers to enjoy. She wanted to make sure that wherever they were that the people looked after them and kept them going. She would be proud that we still have them in our yard.
