BERNICE KEOWN
Left to cherish her memory, daughter Dianne (Barry); grandchildren, Shauna (Joe), Matthew (Kate), great-granddaughters, Jordyn, Madison and Ellie; sisters, Lois and Beryl; sister-in-law; nieces and nephews; special friends Phyllis and Pearl. Also, Mom and Dad provided room and board to a Brandon Wheat King, Ron Pronchuk, 48 years ago. She became hockey Mom to Ron and he became the son she never had.
Bernice was predeceased by her husband of 53 years Doug; sister Aileen; brothers, Welland and Bud.
Bernice was born March 8, 1928 to Harvey and Dora Dalzell in Treherne, MB. She grew up in Fairfax, moved to Brandon where she married Doug on March 4, 1950. She worked for Woolworths/Woolco for 27 years retiring in 1987. Mom and Dad travelled to Hawaii, Florida, Texas before wintering in Arizona and summers at the cabin in Minnedosa. They made many friends and even more memories during their time in Minnedosa and their stays in the United States.
We want to thank the caring staff at Red River Place, Teulon Hospital, Stonewall Hospital and homecare workers at Stonewall Lions Manor. Mom spent nine years at Lions Manor. She enjoyed her time there, especially the afternoon coffee group who accepted her and loved her for who she was. She had trouble with names but that didn't matter, she just gave you a new one. Special shout out to Korner Kuts for Mom's weekly hairdos but more importantly, the friends she made there.
As per Bernice's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

We met Bernice at the Stonewall afternoon Coffee Group And was impressed with her witty attitude . She would make up names for people that where in the group so in turn was given the nickname " Magilicuty "because of her wonderful witty attitude. After she left Stonewall we would stop in Teulon and pay her a visit as well when she went onto Selkirk we again would pay our respects and visit with her.
