ALLAN JOHN ROSS

Our Dad left peacefully on December 29, 2019 with us by his side. He was born on November 22, 1933 and grew up a proud North Ender. He met our Mom on the Grand Beach Special and they were married shortly after in 1954. Dad spent his working career at the Manitoba Telephone System and was a proud member of the Khartum Temple Shrine Drum Corps.
Allan and Marilyn raised their children, Heather and Dean, in Transcona. Great summers were always spent at Caddy Lake where Dad taught us to waterski. Years later, Mom and Dad started spending their summers at Beauty Bay. This is a special place where his grandchildren, Leanne (Chris), Ross, Paul (Tiana), Megan and Colin have many happy memories. Dad loved going to his grandchildren's activities. In recent years, Dad was blessed to have five great-grandchildren, Caiden, Logan, Keaton, Isla and Ellis. They will miss their Papa Al's Kit Kat treats.
Dad was always positive and kind-hearted. He will be loved and missed by Heather and Wilf, Dean and Jane, our families and his many friends.
A private family service will be held in the summer.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Heather, Wilfred, Dean and Jane. I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I have so many wonderful memories of your family and times shared as a result of being neighbours. You are not only neighbours but family. You are in my thoughts at this time. Hugs to you all ❤ - Posted by: Colleen (Family friend and long time neighbour) on: Jan 04, 2020

  • Sorry for the loss of your dad. I lived across the street from your dad on Atlantic Ave. and Dave lived next door. Any time Dave was in town we would visit your dad at the lake or at his house. - Posted by: Bill&bev mcmullan (Friend ) on: Jan 04, 2020

  • We were fortunate to have Al as our neighbor at Beauty Bay for over twenty years. Al loved an "evening fish" and I had the pleasure of fishing with Al on a number of occasions. Al also served as my "building inspector" for the last few years. Beauty Bay will not be the same without our Mr. Al. Our condolences to the Ross Clan. - Posted by: Neil and Terry Campbell (friends and neighbours) on: Jan 04, 2020
