YVON DOUCET

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Yvon Doucet on January 5, 2020, at the age of 62 years old, after a long battle with cancer. Yvon lived in St. Boniface, Manitoba, but is originally from Bathurst, Nouveau-Brunswick.
Yvon will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 35 years, Louise Doucet (nee Haché), and his beloved son Richard.
Yvon leaves to mourn his parents, Alcide and Doris Doucet; his brothers, Dave (France) from Bathurst, and Gilles (Julia) from Dieppe; his nephews and nieces, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and many friends.
Yvon worked for the Canadian National Railway for 37 years. He retired in May 2012.
While he wasn't busy making other people laugh, Yvon enjoyed playing sports. His favourite sports included tennis, hockey, baseball and curling. After retirement, all his attention turned to pickleball where he played daily and competed in numerous tournaments. He also enjoyed his annual fishing trips with close friends.
Yvon was proud to be Acadian. Every year he made sure to make a trip back to his hometown in order to visit his family and friends, and enjoy some fresh lobster.
The funeral service will take place in Bathurst, New Brunswick on January 17, 2020.
