WAYNE TAYLOR

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father Wayne Barry Taylor on January 27, 2020, at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 82 years.
He will be joining his wife and love of his life, Carole (of 54 years). Their memories will be shared and remembered by sons, Terry (Karin) and David (Ginny); grandchildren, Danielle (Matt), Jared, Joel (Jessica), Randi (Kevin), Corey and Troy (Breanna); and great-grandchildren, Wells, Haven, Gimli and Cassia. Many family members and numerous friends.
Dad married his soulmate and companion, Carole, on July 12, 1958 and they began their wonderful life together. He loved spending time with family and was extremely proud of his children, his greatest passion in life were his grandchildren, and fishing of course. He was also an avid woodworker, he made many knick-knacks for everyone. He enjoyed playing bingo, with mom, often telling what she won, but never telling what he won, so much was our dad.
He was a longtime fan of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, he and mom were season ticket holders (we all knew she was a more of a husband fan than a Bomber fan).
Wayne was a very kind-hearted and cheerful person who spoke his mind and was always ready for a good joke. He was always known as "Smiley". And truthfully, he had an amazing smile.
He was wonderful company, loved helping anyone with anything. He loved playing cards (and beating us regularly). He enjoyed all sporting events of his children and grandchildren, always glad to go fishing with anyone who asked him. He was greatly appreciated and will be missed deeply.
The family would also like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care, compassion, and loving hearts over the past number of weeks.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne may be made to the charity of your choice.
In keeping with Wayne's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a small gathering will be had by their Niche in St. Boniface Cemetery at the end of May this year. Notice will be given.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Wayne was a very good friend, he and Carol were what marriage was all about, you could tell how much they loved each other just by looking at them. They were the reason that my second husband and I moved to Niverville and we had great times with them fishing or playing cards. Well buddy I am glad you and Carol are together again. By the way if you see Buck up there give him a good kick in the butt for not looking after himself, bye for now, it’s good to know that we have another angel in the sky. Rest in Peace Wayne you deserve to xxx. - Posted by: Margaret Ledwos (Good Friend ) on: Feb 23, 2020

  • Such a happy, friendly guy. Always a pleasure to be around. If I am not mistaken he may have played Santa Claus at some point. Condolences to the family.....such a loss for all of you. - Posted by: Jocelyn Walker and Alex James (Hydro Employees) on: Feb 10, 2020
