ALVIN PETER FRIESEN
Al was born in Steinbach on May 10, 1933, the first child of Rev. Peter D. and Margaret Friesen. He was a skilled machinist, employed first at Friesen Machine Shop in Steinbach, and then continuing his craft in Winnipeg.
He is survived by his faithful and loving wife, Carol; son, Darren; sister-in-law, Donna; daughters, Deb and Shawna; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donald (Anne), Mary Ann (Jake), Norman (Myrna) and Ralph (Hannah). He was predeceased by his parents; and brother, Vernon (Irma).
Al was a past member of the Kinsmen Club and the Elmwood Royal Canadian Legion. He loved crosswords and dancing, and spent many a happy hour fishing and hunting with his friends.
A memorial service will be held at John Black United Church, 898 Henderson Hwy., Monday, February 10, 2020, at 11:00 a.m.
