Hi Joyce:: My condolences to you & your family on the passing of your husband Bob. I have many happy memories of our times together at your place as well as mine where we shared stories and drinks as well as food and jokes hugs and lots of laughter!! Also, I remember the fun we had bowling together...travelling to Mexico...nights at the Princess and the Central hotels in Transcona! Having just gone through this sadness that the loss of a partner brings...I wish you well and would like to hear from you if you wish. Take care! - Posted by: Margaret Glew (Past friend) on: Feb 16, 2020

Joyce, Elsie, and Nancy, my condolences on Robbie's passing. I fondly remember the Cave Family Christmases, weddings, and picnics. They were great times with lots of noise and Love. We grew up in a different environment, where we did not have much and shared openly the little we managed to gather. I recall the Christmas and New Year's Day family events comparing our new toys and wearing our new clothes. The Kid's table was always separate from the adult dinning. At that festive season, our parents always relaxed and let us choose our favorite dishes, which was a treat, not having to eat our least favorite food. A real treat! I recall a few occasions when Uncle Bob pulled a $1 bill out of the Christmas Pudding and all us kids went carefully through our desserts to search for our dollars, which turned out to be a only a dime. What stands out for me at your wedding, Joyce, is Robbie's speech. He stated a few times "thank you for coming and have a good time". Although it was your day, he wanted everyone to enjoy themselves, which we did. And as they say the rest is history. Old high school friend from Transcona Collegiate days. Bob was one of a group of six or so buddies who all hung out in our late teens and early twenties. We all grew into adulthood together, some taking longer than others! Bob was always the serious one in our group, worrying about finances and the future, while laughing at all the mistakes we made along the way. Bob is the second of our group to leave us; too early. We had lost touch as a group a long time ago and is sad that guys do this as we go on in different directions. Still remember his laugh and his stories, his meeting of Joyce, his love of music; he could dance to the oldies rock pretty good for a big guy. Will have a toast to you today!
