RITA LAUZON
(nee CHARTRAND)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, Rita Lauzon, on Friday, February 28, 2020, at the age of 79.
Mom is survived by her children, Jim and Carla (Dave); grandsons, Jean-Luc and Jean-Marc; as well as siblings, Alfred, Donat, Yolanda and Donalda.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ludovic and Maggie Chartrand (nee Devlin); as well as several sisters, brothers, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Rita was born in St. Laurent, Manitoba, and at a young age moved to Winnipeg where she became a welder. Through Mom's belief in working hard, and being strong through whatever life handed you, we were able to help her through a lengthy illness.
She was so proud of her two grandsons and loved them so very much. Mom, you were a great example for all of us. You worked so hard and we will never forget all your teachings of love, respect, and the importance of family. We love you and miss you so much.
Thank you to all the staff on 8A Palliative at St. Boniface Hospital. They are our angels on earth. Thank you for taking such good care of Mom.
Respecting her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private memorial service for family will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to 8A Palliative - St. Boniface Hospital Foundation.

Auntie Rita was one of the kindness and most thoughtful person that I had the privilege of knowing in my lifetime. Although I was very young when I last saw her, she always made me feel that I meant something to her. She was loved by everyone that knew her. My condolences to her family and may she rest in eternal peace. - Posted by: Joe Cyr (Nephew) on: Mar 03, 2020
