WINNIFRED PATRICIA MOONEY
March 12, 1929 - March 4, 2020
She was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Elmwood where she met and fell in love with her husband Bill and went on to raise three children. She was ahead of her time becoming a successful businesswoman in the 1970s and in later years she had a career with the Royal Bank. Following her retirement, she spent many years volunteering with CancerCare Manitoba. Mum's belief in working hard and being strong through whatever life handed her helped her face her challenges with a positive attitude.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill; parents, George and Ida Beatty; grandson Michael Mooney, and sister Eileen.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Patrick (Debbie) and Michael (Dawn); daughter Linda (Ken); grandchildren, Bill (Nadine), Ryan (Jenna), Blair (Michelle), Maureen (Shayne) and Holly (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Paige, Owen, Zoey, Liam, Ella, Max, Jack, Ruby and Milo; brother-in-law Bob (Colleen); and many other family members who will continue to cherish her memory.
Mum's favourite times in life were when she was surrounded by her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.
Our Mum was a great example to all of us. She worked so hard and we will never forget all her teachings of love, respect and the importance of family. We love her and will miss her so much.
Many heartfelt thanks to the staff at 2 North for the care, kindness and respect shown to our Mum during her life and in her last hours. It is much appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, at Cropo Funeral Chapel located at 1442 Main St., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Am sorry for your loss. She is a lovely lady, one I always looked forward to seeing outside in her garden when I was little and then when I'd go to work as I got older. Am glad I got the chance to reconnect with her after moving from the Hoskin house. I will hang on to her memory, and remember her beautiful smile. - Posted by: Shay (Neighbor, caregiver ) on: Mar 07, 2020
