JOYCE GRAY
Joyce was born in Selkirk, Manitoba and grew up on the farm at Husavik. Joyce is
survived by her three daughters, Colleen (Rob), Lynda, Diane (Ron), seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Andres and Kathleen Thorsteinson.
Our mom loved to cook and entertain and plant her garden every year. She spent many hours knitting mitts for the less fortunate and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
Mom was fortunate to live in a community where her neighbours became life-long friends.
We would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospital for their care and kindness to our mom. Also thank you to Dr. Bruce MacLeod for his care over the years.
As per Mom's wishes there will be no service.

Joyce was a great gal and awesome hostess. Joyce loved to cook and willingly shared her recipes and home. I always think of her when making her pea salad and herb bread and the fun times she enjoyed with her many VIA friends. The last time I saw her she had be knitting bag with her and a mitten in progress. - Posted by: Arlene Shipper (Friend and VIA coworker ) on: Mar 10, 2020

My deepest sympathies to your family. I adored your mom. She spoke about her daughters and grandchildren always. I am grateful for all the time I got to spend with her. She was a beautiful lady who I loved sharing soup recipes with. She was more than just a client I loved also going to her home to cut her hair when she couldn’t come to me. I just want her family to know she will be missed by many people she crossed paths with over her years. I not only considered her a co-worker (VIA) but a friend. My condolences to Joyce’s family. - Posted by: Linda Taylor (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2020

Joyce and I worked together for many years at VIA Rail. We remained friends long after we both retired. I will miss our brunches together as well as the brunches we shared with the VIA girls. My thoughts and prayers go out to Joyce’s family. - Posted by: Donna cameron (Friend) on: Mar 07, 2020
