ELEANOR FLORENCE MARTEL
(nee GUS)

It is with deep sorrow, that we announce the passing of our much loved mother, sister, and friend. Eleanor was born on August 9, 1929 in Winnipeg, MB and passed away in Stonewall, MB on March 30, 2020 with her children, Susan Hurd, Daniel Martel and Timothy Martel by her side.
Following the passing of her husband Dollard (Ed) in 2003, Eleanor was welcomed into the home of her eldest son Daniel who stood by her faithfully helping her negotiate her later years. Eleanor was a "social butterfly" and was gifted with the ability to produce beautiful oil paintings, which we will enjoy for years to come.
We will remember mom as always doing things her way.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services to follow.
We thank her friend Bonnie for her support. A very special thanks to Christy and the emergency staff at Stonewall Hospital. Their compassion was overwhelming.

  • I have enjoyed our friendship for so many years. Eleanor you were loved by my whole family. We loved her sense of humour and she never lost it even in her later years . I will miss our phone calls . In the last few years that was the only way we could communicate because we were miles apart. She couldn’t travel and neither could I. So many fond memories . I will cherish them. Love Lynne ,Heather and Michael - Posted by: Lynne (Friend) on: Apr 04, 2020
