KIMBERLEY LACHUTA
(nee COSTIK)

After fighting health problems courageously for many years, Kim left this world suddenly at Riverview Health Centre on April 19, 2020 at the age of 57.
She will be looking over her daughter Tiffany from above; as well as her much loved parents, Harry and Diane Costik; her sisters, Lisa (Don) and Corinna (Barry); her nephews, Max and Tyler and the hundreds of friends worldwide whose lives she had a positive impact on.
Kim was fearless, spending her life following her passions and working tirelessly for causes she believed in. From travelling the province fundraising for the MS Society, helping the Boys and Girls Club, Child Find Manitoba, co-founding the Manitoba Blues Society, trailblazing the regulation of crop stubble burning in the prairies and tutoring students in mediumship, Kim changed the world around her for the better, at every turn.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for the special care and compassion she received from them in the last few months before her passing. She meant it when she said that residing at Riverview was like "heaven on earth" for her.
The only thing that outshone Kim's tremendous faith, was her generosity for charities that she gave to regularly, including Siloam Mission. In lieu of flowers, her request was for loved ones to donate to a charity that touches their heart in her honour.
A private service for close friends and family will be held in the early summer.

A FINAL FAREWELL FROM KIM:
To my friends and family - It's been a great ride. Thanks for sharing it with me. Luv ya!

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Kim was a bright spark in the universe, a kind, gentle soul who brought passion to her causes, and welcomed people into her life. I’m so grateful for all the conversations we shared over the years, to have known her helped me survive challenges and to have enriched my life with the wisdom she shared. She was an aunt to me, one that is family by choice, and the world is a sadder place for her passing - even though she’s in Heaven looking out for others. Bless you Kim, big hugs! - Posted by: Daniel (Family Friend) on: Apr 25, 2020

  • I met Kim in the 90s, through her mother Diane. I have a incredible love of blues music and Diane told me that I should talk to her daughter Kim. When I met Kim I was surprised by her knowledge of the blues. We were talking about Robert Johnson and the men who influenced him Charley Patton and son house and suddenly I had a friend for life. Later on when she was too sick to go anywhere I would stop by her mom and dad's house for wonderful lunches and even better conversations. I learned a lot from Kim. Our fueled passion was a joint project on Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp and a hope that we could get our screenplay written and a movie made. Kim was a tireless fountain of information. And a powerful ally giving support, love and advice. We would text each other during the night when sleep evaded us. Those talks were full of life and humor. I'm going to miss Kim. But this isn't good bye. It's til we meet again. My broken heart offers my condolences to Tiffany and the rest of Kim's family. - Posted by: Henry (Friend ) on: Apr 25, 2020
