ALLAN PENNER
Allan was born on January 6, 1938 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba to Peter and Mary Penner. Allan was a loving father to daughters, Shari (Kirk) and Marsha (Clemente) and son Mitchell (Lana); as well as a generous and caring grandfather to Jenna (Nick), Maddie, Mia and Luisa. He had a soft spot for his great-grandsons, Nate and Milo who brought him a smile even in his last days.
Allan was a hard working man who built a life for himself with his own two hands. An expert craftsman, his solid construction of many homes and structures across this country will be an enduring reminder of his skill and devotion to his trade.
Allan possessed a special ability with animals. Creatures gravitated toward him and were calmed in his presence. In his younger years, Allan rode horses, a love he shared with his daughters. Dogs, Beko and Hunter will surely miss your lap to lay their heads upon.
Though we will all surely have a better chance of winning a game of checkers or pool in your absence, we will forever miss the laughs we had. Allan's sense of humour was unshakable, even in the face of great pain and hardship. We will recall your jokes, your contagious chuckle and kind smile in these hard times.
Despite the pain of losing you, we know that you have finally found the rest you deserve. So take the saddle off the wall, put it on your pony and lead him from his stall. Ride around, Allan, ride around real slow, because the fire and the snuffy are raring to go. The prairies are waiting for you now.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salvation Army Golden West Centennial Lodge.

I was so sorry to hear of Allan’s passing. I’d often see him on the main floor and we would chat a little bit here and there. We would always end up laughing together. I loved his sense of humour! My condolences to all the family. Brenda Reznik - Posted by: BRenda Reznik (Friend at GoldenWest Lodge) on: Jun 01, 2020

I got the chance to be terribly beat in a game of checkers with Allan. A smart man. My heart weeps for his kids and all that love him and know him. Prayers for all. Much love, Kathy - Posted by: Kathy Kennedy-Garrison (Allan is my sister in law Shari's dad) on: May 20, 2020
