FLORENT DESROCHERS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Florent Gabriel Joseph Desrochers on May 14, 2020, at the age of 71 years.
After a short and courageous battle with brain cancer, Florent passed away peacefully at his residence with his family by his side.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Isabelle Desrochers (née LeSage) of 45 years; his sons, Richard (Heather), Patrick and Daniel; his three precious granddaughters, Maielle, Lilya, Evangeline; and family friend Nicolette Layne. He is survived by his siblings, Andre (Diane), Normand (Irène), Della Leclair, Georges (Annette), Angelle (Tim) Rosner, Paulette (Marcel) Marion, Pierre (Kimberly), Jeannette (Claude) Marcotte and Michel (Wendy); his mother-in-law Thérèse LeSage, and in-laws, Jean (Roselie), Roger (Elaine), Donald (Carol) and Glenda LeSage; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and close family friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dominique and Laurence Desrochers (née Labossière), his brother Rhéal Desrochers, his father-in-law Andre LeSage, and brother-in-law Paul Leclair, and Albert LeSage.

Dad was a family man. He loved his family dearly and always looked forward to our
visits. His pride and joy were his three
granddaughters. Dad always felt that his
family was one of the greatest gifts the Lord bestowed upon him. Dad was a person of deep faith: a caring, honest and hard-working man. He had a way of connecting with people
leaving a lasting impression on those he met.

We love you Dad,
you are forever in our hearts.

We would like to thank the WRHA Palliative Care Unit for their kindness and wonderful care. The family would also like to thank in a very special way, Dr. Casey Woo, who took such great care of Dad over the years.
A viewing for family and friends will be held at the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Catholic Church in Lorette, Manitoba from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020. A private Funeral Mass will take place following the viewing.

  • Our hearts were saddened reading of Flo's passing. Flo would drop in to catch up with us often at the shop. We will truly miss him. He was such a nice man and we were honored to call him a friend. Our condolences to his family - Posted by: Renée and Grant Sicotte (friend) on: May 19, 2020

  • I was deeply saddened to hear of Florent's Brain Cancer, and that it was unoperable. He was always at the ready to lend a helping hand from sandbag dike building, to fixing the overhead garage door. Deeply devoted to his faith, a father figure, a shoulder to lean on, or an ear to listen to one's trials and troubles. My most sincerest condolences to all. Cathy (Georgette Major's) granddaughter. - Posted by: Cathy Erickson (Friend) on: May 16, 2020
