I heard of Debra's passing only last week. I worked in the office and she would come in nearly every day. Most of the time, she plunked her purse down behind me and my desk and then we'd have a great short chat. Debra nearly always brought me a little plate of whatever was on the noontime menu that day, and I was grateful, and happy to be included (my own lunch was yogurt, cheese, and an apple). And what an imagination she had! I won't ever forget the year she dressed up for Hallowe'en as the Crazy Cat Lady. So simple and so darned cute and funny. The world is a little lonelier without her, her sense of humour, her friendliness, and thoughtfulness... She was a good person, who warmed my heart every time I saw her. Rest in peace, my friend. - Posted by: Yvonne Friesen (Work mate) on: Apr 26, 2021

Oh Deb..I just found out that you are gone ..it is August 16th. I am profoundly saddened , shocked and in disbelief. Even though our lives took different paths for the past couple of years, we had more than 35 years together. I still think about you, still care about you, still miss you, still love you. I will never forget you and all the great times we shared. You will always be in my heart and I will see you in my dreams. Until we meet again Deb..Rest in Peace my friend. I worked with Debra at Life's Journey Inc. for 9 years. We became friends or at least I liked to think so. Always loved her stories and her sense of humor. Always had great advice as well. Thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends at this time. RIP Debra you will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Patti green (Co worker and friend) on: Jun 18, 2020

I am so sorry to read of Debbie's passing. We grew up together in St. Boniface on Berry Street. ( now Thomas Berry ). My grand parents lived at 168 and whenever I visited we would all hang out. After my grandparents passed my visits were very few and we eventually lost touch. We had a lot of fun together as kids. I am truly sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Heather Lightfoot (childhood friend) on: Jun 17, 2020

My heart is so sad at the passing of Debra. We worked together at the women's transition centre on Ross. She was my Boss, but never treated me as one only a friend. She had a great sense of humor, always made coming into work fun. We shared so many stories about families, life and even some never tell things' Loved her and she will definitely be missed by all that knew her. - Posted by: Fran Newton (Friend) on: Jun 17, 2020
