It was with profound sadness that we heard of Bill's passing last week, and we extend our sincerest sympathies and condolences to Linda, Bill's family and his many, many friends. Bill was a very kind and thoughtful person who was always willing to lend a hand and help others in need. Growing up on the same street in P. la P., we shared many wonderful times together as children. My early childhood memories are mostly about Bill and myself and our many, youthful adventures together. Later, in young, adult life, quite by accident, we reconnected and again made and shared more of life's adventures. Bill was always a good friend to me, and it was always a true pleasure to visit with him, and his family, and to catch up on present-day news and talk about 'old times'. Bill had an excellent sense of humour which brought much joy into everyone's life. He will definitely be sadly missed by me and all those who knew him as a friend. And, because of his kind and caring ways, Bill could not avoid making many new friends along the way. He will be in my thoughts and memories always. May he rest in peace, ...and may we meet again someday. - Posted by: David Harrison (Friend) on: Aug 02, 2020

When I saw Bill’s obituary in the paper this week, I felt as though I had lost some of my childhood. I remembered him as a kind and thoughtful friend. I went from grade school through high school with Bill. We played together in our neighbourhood in Portage la Prairie. We built forts and went rafting. He taught me how to play cribbage and holla. His cousin Larry nicknamed him Satch but Bill would always politely respond “Bill’s the name”. After high school we lost track of each other as often happens when you move towns. I last met him when he stopped at my corn truck on the 59 highway. It was a pleasant surprise to see him again. My condolences on your loss. - Posted by: Dave Ezzard (Friend) on: Aug 02, 2020
