It is with a tearful eye that I read Elizabeth’s obituary today. When growing up, “Elsie” and her family moved across the street from our family in St. Claude, MB. Our parents soon grew fond of each other, and Elsie and I readily became best friends. She and I immediately set to task helping each other develop our communication skills, and I credit Elsie with helping me learn to speak English, which greatly enhanced my school learning. We were both saddened when Elsie’s family moved to Grande Pointe and I missed Elsie immensely. Although our parents made efforts to maintain our connection by having us visit each other, over time we eventually lost contact. Over the years I made attempts to reconnect with my dear friend, whose last note had been signed Liz and Alex Kaluzny but had left no forwarding address. Although so many years have passed, I always held unto fond memories of the Yarushynsky family and I love Elsie still. I feel blessed to have known her and I will always treasure her memory in my heart. I have no doubt Elizabeth was the most amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother and my heart goes out to all of you whose lives she touched. Love lasts forever and may her love for you and your treasured memories of her light your road ahead. My thoughts are with all of you. My sincere condolences.
