Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryINGRAHAM: Janice Florence Ingraham passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre after a very courageous battle with cancer. Born January 20, 1940 in Rathwell, Manitoba, Janice spent most of her young adult life in Winnipeg. It was there that she met and married the love her life, John in 1957. As they began building their lives together their family began to grow. They had five children: four daughters and one son. After a few years, they were posted to C.F.B. Shilo where they continued to raise their family. Through many years of army life, Janice and John moved several places from Douglas, Manitoba to Inverness, Nova Scotia, before returning to Manitoba and settling down in Brandon. Janice was a devoted wife and mother, treasuring every moment with her family, whether it was family camping trips, card games, Yahtzee, sewing outfits for her children, cooking family dinners and teaching every one of her children to be able to do the same one day. Janice was known for not having patience, not holding back her opinion and she had a knack for telling it how it was, even if you didn't want to hear it. That being said, she was genuine to a fault and never sugar coated anything. Janice's passion for so many things over her life lead her down many professional journeys. She had a number of hobbies including sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking, playing Bingo and her Friday night shopping sprees and eating out. Over the years, Janice took many adventures with John: ski-dooing in the back country of Nova Scotia, camping in Texas and South Padre Island. She also experienced a cruise, as well as a road trip to Nashville, Tennessee. After the passing of her husband, Janice made several moves before settling down in Riverheights Terrace, where she made many friends who became like an extended family to her. Remaining to cherish her memory are her children Shelly (Bruce) Moar, Laura (Greg) Merritt, Donna (Ron) Sanders, Joy (Maurice) Snow and Tim (Maxine) Ingraham; grandchildren Janna (Jody), Melinda (Kris), Derek (Marcie), Terra-Lee, Mandi (Brin), Kyle, Jennassa (Ty), Tyler (Chelsea) and Taya (Sebastian); great grandchildren Kolby, Dom, Tanner, Aiden, Xander, Hailey and Ryker; her mother Blanche Cavanagh and sisters Bonnie and Carol. Janice was predeceased by her husband John, father Edward and sister Brenda. A private graveside service was held on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Brandon Cemetery. Urn bearers were Jana Dalton and Jennassa Muir. Donations in memory of Janice may be made to the Western Manitoba Cancer Centre, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, MB, R7A 2B3.

I am so very sorry this message has taken months.I don't get the paper, so I didn't know your beloved Mom had passed away. I did visit her @ Riverheights Terrace and she was upfront about her condition but she seemed to be coping very well. With ALS being a common factor, it was comforting to have your friendships over the years. We extend our sympathy and love in your loss and I hope your cherished memories have brought healing and peace. xoxoox Joy - Posted by: Joyce Wiltsey (friend) on: Feb 08, 2021
