SAMBROOK: Lloyd Melville May 29, 1950 - May 7, 2020. It is with deep sadness that the family of Lloyd Sambrook announce his passing at his residence in Medora on May 7, 2020. Lloyd was born on May 29, 1950 in Deloraine. He attended school in Medora until Grade 9 and completed Grades 10-12 at Deloraine Collegiate. Lloyd worked at numerous jobs in Brandon, Deloraine, and Melita following his graduation. He was very gifted with numbers and excelled at accounting and book keeping. He ultimately returned to his first calling on the farm working alongside his father Ern and his brother Harold. Lloyd had a deep and abiding love for his family. He is fondly remembered by his sisters Darlene and Doug Racher, Elva and Norman Mosset, Margaret and Greg Dunn and his brother Harold and Winifred Sambrook, his 9 nieces and nephews, a large extended family and so many treasured friends and acquaintances. Lloyd had a love of games and was always eager for a competitive match. He cultivated so many friends in Brandon at his weekly bingo outings.He was a compassionate and caring man who had a genuine respect for others. He always had time to stop and chat. In the eulogy at his service, Lloyd’s nephew Scott Sambrook characterized him in the following manner “Fiercely loyal, Genuine, Trustworthy, Patient, Proud and such a positive Role Model. Uncle Lloyd didn’t have any kids of his own but he did a real good job helping raise a lot who were already here.” A memorial service was held on July 18, 2020 at the Medora Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who joined them in celebrating Lloyd’s life. Your comfort and support was greatly appreciated.“When you plant seeds in the lives of others and water them with love and care, You will reap a harvest of sweet memories that will follow you everywhere.”
