WHITEHEAD: Scott Whitehead, an accomplished web developer, cyclist, drummer, and friend to all cats, passed away on Sunday, August 30th at the age of 39. Scotts extraordinary social aptitude paired with his love of technology and design led him to help organize web design conferences all over the world and become exceptionally well-traveled. He was proud to show his home country to the leaders in his industry when he coordinated the Smashing conference in Whistler B.C. An active cyclist and jazz drummer, Scott met many people and enjoyed sharing stories or talking shop. If someone texted him to see if he wanted to get together See you in 20 minutes was his standard response and the ding of his bicycle bell would always announce his arrival back home. He loved discovering new places, taking the road less traveled, and finding those off-the-beaten-path gems that others would never even think to explore. You couldnt help but think he was going places and no town or city would be big enough to contain his ambition or potential. Scott was predeceased by his grandparents Richard and Geraldine Parent, Joe Whitehead, and William and Henriette McGill. His spirit and memory will be carried on by his loving partner Andrea McDougald, his parents MurrayWhitehead (Darlene Wilk), Linda Whitehead (Murray S.), uncle Don Parent (Norma Terrick), his brother Kyle Whitehead (Amie), stepsister Erika Tkatchuk (Neil), stepbrother Alexander Wilk (Alysa), nieces Aurora, Celia, Trulie and nephew Lachlan. Due to COVID-19 restrictions a large gathering will not be held at this time. Scott will be laid to rest in Brandon, MB. He had a lust for life and enough stories to fill multiple lifetimes. We encourage all to share a story with a friend in his honor. Memorial contributions in Scotts name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or The Brandon Humane Society.
