ERNEST: Pauline Ernest (nee Smith) of Brandon passed away at her residence on July 21, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Pauline was born February 11, 1947 in St. Madeline, Manitoba. With many siblings at home she played many games as a child. Her love of family and card games is what she loved best. Her daughters have many memories of having family gathered around the kitchen table eating, laughing and playing cards. Pauline made more than a few trips out to Saskatoon to be with family and of course, once she arrived the cards came out, or off to bingo everyone would go. Once Pauline became a Grandmother she wanted to spend her time at home. Her best card games were with her Grandchildren. Playing Marbles, Crazy 8's and Go Fish. The best sleep overs were always at Grandmas. If you couldn't find Pauline at home you'd find her at bingo. She felt like the Manitoba Metis Federation Southwest Region was her second home. She worked bingo for many years from the late 70's until 2001. In Pauline's later years she always wanted to have company over or simply talk for as long as she could on the phone. We imagine Mom's playing endless cards and playing bingo. Pauline is survived by her two daughters: Tammy Fehr (son-in-law Klas) and her children Scott and Michael Fehr: Lenore Ernest (son-in-law Mike) and her children William, Abagail, Levi, Leah and Jesse: Her sisters Liz Garneau, Irene Tourand and brother Vincent Smith. Pauline was predeceased by her Father William Smith who passed away 1958, Mother Eleanor Smith (nee Fleury) 1969, along with her siblings William Smith 2008, Walter Smith 1999, Margaret Genaille 2008 Mary Boucher 2003, Anne Fleury 1992 and her beloved and best friend Leslie Ernest 2010.
