PHILLIPS: Donna Marie passed away peacefully in Souris Hospital with her family by her side on July 14, 2020, at the age of 81. Donna was born in Hartney, Manitoba on December 31, 1938 to Albert and May McBrien. They moved to the Melgund District in 1945. She went to school in Melgund and Hartney, then took a secretarial course in Brandon. She worked in the Law Office in Deloraine until she married Clare on October 18, 1958. She was very active in the Melgund and Hartney communities. She was an active member of the Royal Purple until it closed. Donna was also very active in the United Church, UCW, rink, and many other events. She did countless hours of volunteer work in the community throughout the years. She followed the kids and grand kid’s sports from Notre Dame, Saskatchewan, Denver, Colorado, Minot and Grand Forks, North Dakota, Winnipeg, Pine Falls, Snow Lake and every place in between. Donna is survived by her husband Clare of 62 years; three sons Edward (Jo Ann), James, Richard (Sheri) and five grand children Kyle (Drew), Brett (Kendal), Jodi, Kaylee and Nolan. Donna is also survived by her brother Bill (Janice) McBrien and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and May McBrien. A family funeral service was held at the United Church in Hartney on July 20, 2020 followed by the interment in the Riverside Cemetery, Hartney.
