RUDNISKI: Kazmiere 1930 –2009: It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kaz Rudniski on January 8th, 2009 at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon, Manitoba. He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. Kaz will be forever loved and missed by his wife Peg of fifty-seven years; daughters Christine (James), Lori (Warren) and son-in-law, Lyle Redman. “Poppy" will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Kim, Brad, Daniel, Carleigh, Jimmy, Whitney, Zachary, Delaney; step grandchildren Allan and Tamara; great grandchildren, Grace, Abby, and Pilot. Kaz was born and raised in Basswood, Manitoba. In 1951, he married Peggy Duncan and they farmed for 56 years in the Moline district. The first year of their married life was spent in Toronto where he worked at Dehaveland Aircraft. Kaz's first love was farming, but in his later years, he enjoyed traveling in the winter months to Arizona, Texas, and Florida with his wife. He greatly enjoyed jamming with musician friends and he and his fiddle were frequent participants at many musical events. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Brandon Assiniboine Hospital for the wonderful care he received. A Memorial Service will be held at the Rivers United Church on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glenna Beauchamp officiating. A private family interment will take place at the Rapid City Cemetery prior to the service.
