OSTASH: Donald Larry (May 5, 1959 – Jan 24, 2009) On Saturday, January 24, 2009, Donald Larry Ostash passed away with his family at his side at the Assiniboine Centre in Brandon at the age of 49 years. Don is survived by his mother, Jean Ostash of Brandon; brother Nick of Didsbury, Alberta, sisters Ellen, Brandon, Phyllis (Barry) Shurb, Brandon, Betty (Lloyd), Dauphin, Manitoba; brothers Peter Jr. (Sharon), Brandon, Ernie (Debbie), Edmonton, Alberta; sister Maxine, Strathclair and brothers Philip (Marilyn), Brandon and Terry (Jean), Brandon; as well as numerous nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces. Don was well known for his artwork, ceramics and cooking. Don will be missed by his family and many friends. In lieu of flowers, friends may donate to the Brandon Regional Health Centre Foundation, Cancer Palliative Care Services, 150 McTavish Avenue East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2B3. Memorial service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church officiating.
