HOLMBERG: Sylvia Holmberg of Erickson residing in Fairview Home passed away peacefully February 3rd at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. The family takes comfort in the knowledge she has gone to join her husband Elis. Sylvia raised 12 children and was a very talented homemaker and mother. She made holidays very special occasions for her family especially Christmas and Easter. She was a friend to all and served her community well being a life member of the Erickson Legion and The Lutheran Church. In later years Sylvia enjoyed traveling with friends and enjoyed the places they visited. Sylvia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all. She was predeceased by her husband Elis in 1972, five children Shirley, Sandra, Dale, Glen and Ken, also one grandson Kevin. Surviving are four sons, Art (Joyce), Lorne (Betty) of Kitimat, B.C., Leslie (Sandy) of Winnipeg, and Raymond (Karen) of Brandon. Three daughters, Joan McTavish, Levina Granger and Alma Warniski, all of Brandon. Also left to mourn are fifteen grandchildren, nineteen great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild, two brothers and one sister. Also many extended family members and friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Lutheran Church in Erickson, burial in Erickson Cemetery with Rae’s Funeral Service in charge of arrangements. If so desired, donations may be made to The Erickson Legion or Erickson Lutheran Church.
