NOORT: Berendina (Diane) Noort. It is with regret and sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother on February 11, 2009. Berendina was born in Leiden, The Netherlands, March 11, 1932 and came to Canada in March of 1954, settling in Brandon where she and Dad lived until 1959. They moved to Thompson and lived there until 1974 and from there the family moved to Minnedosa, where she worked as a Nurse's Aide while raising her family. In 1995, she moved to Rivers/Newdale. Mom left us with many fond memories and nothing meant more to her than her family. Mom especially enjoyed traveling, knitting, ceramics, crafts, bingo and the company of her cats. She is survived by her children, daughter Francis (Steve) Young, and her sons Hans (Brenda), Randy (Bonnie), Robert (Michelle) and Richard (Cindy) Noort. Also fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two brothers and one sister in The Netherlands. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1981, her mother and father, two sisters and one brother. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A family service will be held at a later date.
