CORMACK: Larry John. It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the sudden passing of Larry on February 7, 2009 at his home in Duncan, B.C. Larry was born at Hamiota, MB on May 21, 1949. Following high school graduation, Larry enrolled at Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, B.C. He completed his education at the University of Victoria graduating with a BA (Psychology). He worked for the Province of British Columbia for over 30 years. Larry took early retirement in 2004 and moved to Duncan, B.C. In retirement he enjoyed living on his acreage adjacent to the Cowichan Golf Course. He and Chris enjoyed gardening and they established a small market gardenraising flowers, especially dahlias, and other produce which they sold at the local market. He also raised a few chickens and turkeys and enjoyed the blackberries and apple trees abundant on his property. Golfing became a passion and he spent many happy hours on the courseplaying as well as collecting golf balls. Larry was predeceased by his father, Cecil. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his son Chris; daughter Kim and their mother Lynn; his mother Bertha (Joe) Eilers and his siblings: Hilda (Ray) Wood, Betty (Phil) Persian, Allan (Debbie) and Dennie (Debbie) as well as nephews Josh and Jordan Cormack and Brian and Brad Wood. A memorial service was held on February 13, 2009 at St. Johns Heritage Church, Colwood, B.C.
