ZANDER: In loving memory of Carolyn Lee Zander (Kitt) who passed away on March 3, 2009 at the Souris Health Centre in her 65th year. Carol was born March 15, 1943 in Souris, Manitoba to Pauline and Roman Kitt, the youngest child of three. Carol attended school in Souris and grew up at the family home. She met and married Bill in 1965. Together they made their home in Souris, where Carol was a stay at home Mom for many years then went to work at the cheese plant. After that she held a few different jobs in Souris, one being at a local restaurant and babysitting with her last job being at We Care Home Health Services in Brandon. In 1969, a son was born to Bill and Carol (Dale) followed by a daughter in 1971 (Tracy). Carol and Bill attended many functions in their younger years and both loved to dance. They were true soul mates. In her spare time Carol loved to paint and do jigsaw puzzles. Ill health forced Carol to reside at the Personal Care Home the last few years of her life. Carol has left many wonderful memories and touched many hearts. She was a loving, dedicated wife and wonderful mother. She leaves to mourn her passing, her two children Dale (Tammy) Zander of Souris, Manitoba and Tracy (James) McConechy of Brandon, Manitoba. Carol was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2002, by her father in 1963, her mother in 1996 and her sister-in-law (Edith Kitt) in 2008. Carol is survived by her two brothers, Reg (Louise) Kitt of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and Norman Kitt of Winnipeg, Manitoba, as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. A graveside service was held at the Souris & Glenwood Cemetery on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. John Oldenkamp officiated. Arrangements were with Kowalchuk’s Funeral Home, Souris, Manitoba. The gates of memory never close,we miss you morethan anyone knows.Life goes on, we know that’s true,but not the samesince we lost you. You shared our hopes, our love, our fears,thank you Mom for those wonderful years.Deep in our hearts your memory is kept of one we love and will never forget.Mom,I’m sure going to miss our walks and our picnics in the park. Most of all I’ll miss your wonderful smile and the quiet times we spent together. You had a heart of gold and I loved you dearly and always will. You are going to be deeply missed but you will always be in my heart. “Until we meet again”~ Tracy
