OGG: Marie Louise Ogg of Sandy Lake, Manitoba, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on March 21, 2009 at the Sandy Lake Personal Care Home after a long and courageous battle with cancer and dementia. Marie was born at Laurier, Manitoba on October 13, 1920, the youngest of eight children born to Everanda and Alfred Tetrault. Her early years were spent on the family farm. She attended Woodbend School. Marie married Archie Ogg of Makinak, MB on January 3, 1942. They farmed the family farm and had their three children, Dorraine, Roger and Barry. In June 1953, the family moved to Brandon. Marie, Archie and family built their home where Marie lived till October 2006. Marie worked at McKenzie Seeds and Kresges and then her ceramic shop. Marie enjoyed the family cottage, fishing, ski-dooing, bowling, playing shuffleboard and cards. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with Roger and Barry and Cribbage with Dorraine. She won most times. Marie enjoyed her family, grandchildren and especially, great grandchildren. She was a member of the Legion where she had many happy times playing shuffleboard, crib and dancing. Marie was predeceased by her husband Archie in April 1981; her son Roger in January 2005; her parents Everanda and Alfred; three brothers, Alfred, Ernest and Alphonse (Lorna); four sisters, Blanche (Matt), Yvonne (Oswald), Florence (George) and Laura (Philip); brothers-in-law Arthur Ogg, Allen (Angel) Ogg; sister-in-law Jean (Art) Montsoin. Marie is survived and will be missed by her daughter Dorraine (James), her son Barry (Brenda) and daughter-in-law Sharon. Marie has eight grandchildren: Dorraines family Shane (Nancy) Hopkie, Darrin (Melissa ) Hopkie, Bryce Hopkie; Rogers family Tammy (Jeff) Wood, Tiffany (Bruce) Waite, Mark (Jodi) Ogg; Barrys family Jody (Scott) Ferrier and Erin Ogg. Marie has 14 great grandchildren and one soon to be: Jack, Kyle, Charlie and Joseph Hopkie; Chelsea and Cody Hopkie, Tawni, Jade and Shai Wood, Emily and Abbey Ogg, Cole and Josh Ferrier and Holden Ogg. Also surviving are brothers-in-law Harry (Dora), Don (Sharon); sisters-in-law Rose Marie and Alice (Joe); many nieces, nephews and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Brockie Donovan Funeral Celebrant, Mr. Lawrence McInnes, officiating. A private graveside service will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 415-1st Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 2W8 or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit #1, 613-10th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 4G6.
