TWA: Andrew John - Dec. 13, 1919 - Apr. 16, 2009. In his 90th year, Andy Twa passed away peacefully on April 16, 2009 at Humber River Regional Hospital. After sixty-six years of marriage he leaves behind his loving wife Bernice, daughter Carol and her husband Fergus McWilliam and was predeceased by his first daughter P. Andrea Gibeau. “Grumps” will be sadly missed by Alexander, James, Kendra and as “Grampa” by Vanessa. Born in Ellisboro, Saskatchewan. Andy was a prize-winning young violinist in Manitoba and after wartime service in the R.C.A.F. he moved to Toronto from Brandon with his family to pursue a career in music. He was a founding member of the Canadian League of Composers and violist in the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
