Lance FIELDS

FIELDS: Mr. Lance Edward Fields. June 4th, 1917 – May 6th, 2009. Also known as "Gracie" and "Uncle Bill". Lance passed away at the Souris Hospital on Wednesday, May 6th at the age of 91 years. He was the youngest son born to George and Nancy Fields in Alexander, Manitoba. He was predeceased by his father George, his mother Nancy, his brother Welly and his wife Betty, his brother Dick (Richard), his sister Nora and her husband Duncan Paige, and sister Mae and her husband Fin Pollock. Lance was also predeceased by niece Leona Harrison, nephew Jimmie Paige and great nephew Craig Beaumont. Lance is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Lance served with the Royal Winnipeg Rifles in England and Europe from 1940 – 1946. After the war he made his home in Souris until his passing. A graveside funeral for family and friends will be held at the Alexander Cemetery (the family plot) on Thursday, May 14th, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Marvin Beaumont officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice. "We Will Miss You"
