COUBROUGH: Marjorie Lois Coubrough (Hewins). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marj Coubrough on May 14, 2009. She passed away in the Health Sciences Centre after a brief illness with her beloved husband and family by her side. Marj was born November 2, 1932 in Portage la Prairie; the youngest child of Edward and Annie Hewins. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Don of 53 years, her two sons Kelly (Linda) of Winnipeg and Kevin (Bev) of Portage la Prairie; grandchildren Jillian and Scott of Winnipeg and Derek and Trent of Portage la Prairie; brother Ken (Fay) Hewins of Brandon; sister Ada Henwood of Ottawa; brothers-in-law Andy Anderson, Bob Knight, and Walter (Doreen) Coubrough; sisters-in-law Muriel Hewins, Margaret Kitson, Audrey (Ron) Tarr and Diane Watson, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Jeanne Anderson, Anne Knight, and Lillian Durnin; brother Ted Hewins and brothers-in-law Keith Henwood, Ralph Durnin, Bud Kitson, and John Watson. Marj was a member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church, St. Mary’s Alter Guild and Thrift Shop and a Life Member of Ruth Rebekah Lodge #3. A service to celebrate Marj’s life was held Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church led by the Venerable Norman Collier. Donations in Marj’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s La Prairie Anglican Church Memorial Fund, 36-2nd Street SW, Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, R1N 2A1.
