RYAN: On May 22, 2009 Terence James Ryan passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his wife Faith and his daughters. Born March 27th, 1925 in Matamata, New Zealand, the third of eight children, he is survived by brothers Barry and Kerry, and baby sister Cushla. Dad was predeceased by his first wife of 49 years, Phyllis. He leaves to cherish his memory his bride Faith and his daughters Monica Palmquist (Lorne), Celeste Pass (Ken), Kirsten (Ladislav Tomes) and Lara (Murray Moslenko), as well as six grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Kaetlyn, David, Luke and Lenae, and extended family and friends here in Winnipeg and Down Under. He also leaves Faith's children Bruce (Elizabeth), Faith Mary (Mike), Louise (Len), Debra (Garry), and their families. Dad loved to travel. He left New Zealand as a young man to explore many exciting places before settling in Winnipeg to marry and raise his family. He trained as a machinist and worked for the CPR until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Down Under Club and had many lifelong friends there. Dad was a wonderful father. Due to Mom's ill health, he tirelessly shouldered much responsibility in raising his girls and caring for his wife. He was very proud of his girls. Dad was a very kind man, always helping others, charming, he liked complimenting the ladies; knowledgeable, king of trivia; and funny, always had a joke to tell. Dad found love again with his bride Faith. Their time together was short but so sweet. At their wedding in 2006 Faith acknowledged that they would not celebrate their 25th anniversary, but that they would celebrate everyday, and they did. Dad, you left us with so many good memories, all your stories, and all your funny expressions. We'll miss you so much. Love, your girls. P.S.: Godspeed Dad your James Bond days can begin anew. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 27th at 2:00 pm at St. Theresa's Church, 3597 Main Street, West St. Paul (Winnipeg). Viewing 1:00 pm. Rock Fontaine in care of arrangements, toll free 866-499-2601 or 204-223-2576.
