POTTER: Howard Leslie Potter of Brandon, MB passed away at the BrandonRegional Health Centre on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Howard was born in Deloraine, Manitoba on March 3, 1925, the son of John and Eleanor Potter. He was raised on the family farm. Howard worked for BMHC as a Psychiatric Nurse. In the 1970's Howard changed his career to work in Revelstoke, B.C. with Family Services for the province. Later retiring to Brandon, Howard enjoyed many summers at the cottage at Lake Metigoshe visiting with family and friends. He made many trips to B.C. to visit in Revelstoke and for family visits in Vernon. One very special and proud moment in Howard's life was when his grandparent's farmhouse was moved and remodeled to become what is now the Walkinshaw Bed and Breakfast house on Lake Max road. Howard enjoyed the Grand Opening and many visits since. He had a strong love for his family and a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed. Howard will be lovingly remembered by his wife Marion (Rusk) of 40 years, son Bruce (Susan) of Deloraine, daughter Diane (Richard) Rounds, of Brandon, stepchildren: Norman (Gail) Rusk, Cheryle (Danny) Roscoe, Janet (Tim) Hawley all of Brandon and Grant (Patti) Rusk of Vernon, B.C. Howard will be remembered by his 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also leaving a brother Orland (Thelma) Potter of Brandon, sister Dorothy Beedie of Rivers, sister Ruth Percival of Deloraine, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Howard was predeceased by his parents, John and Eleanor Potter. As per Dad's wishes there will be a private graveside ceremony held at Old Deloraine Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at BRHC for the care and compassion shown to Howard.
