SCHELLENBERG: Mr. Rudy Jacob Schellenberg, beloved husband of Bonnie, passed away at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Rudy was born on August 2, 1942 and he grew up on a farm north of Boissevain. He attended East Lynne grade school. In early years, Rudy worked on a farm and at a meat packing plant. He was a dedicated cab driver for most of his working years, and he loved meeting people. Rudy was a devoted husband to Bonnie. They were inseparable and shared a great relationship over the years. Rudy is survived by his wife Bonnie, mother-in-law Moneta Firth, brother-in-law Bill (Dianne), sisters Margaret (Harold), Katie (Allan), brothers Peter (Barbara), John (Sharon), Harry (Irene), sister-in-law Anne, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Isaac and Katherine Schellenberg, sister Sara and brothers Henry and Eddie. The Funeral Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Monday, June 8, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church officiating. A time of viewing will be held prior to the service from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery. Donations in memory of Rudy may be made to the Brandon Humane Society, 2200-17th Street East, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 7M6 or to a charity of choice.
