WELSH: Evelyn Catherine. We continue to grieve the loss of our beloved Nan, who died peacefully in her 88th year at Fairview Home on Saturday, May 16, 2009. She lived a long and very happy life, and she would want us to bear that in mind. She did not back down from adversity and she would be proud to know we follow in her footsteps. She was born to a loving family and was in the middle of eight children...the filling in the sandwich. Her family meant everything to her and she shared loving and funny memories with us. Nan lived her life to the fullest, always concerned about her loved ones and keeping them in her thoughts. Her parents, her siblings Mary, Ethel, Arnold, Jack and Florence, her husband Les and her son-in-law David preceded her in death. She missed them always; but kept them in her heart through shared stories. Nan leaves us to carry forward her legacy of everlasting love, hope, and an endless joy in life. She treasured her friends from all walks of life and remained in personal and telephone contact with them since moving first to Lions Manor, and then to Fairview. She leaves those friends to remember their happy times together, along with her son Jack and daughter-in-law Kathy Welsh, her daughter Sally Bender, her beloved grandchildren Erin and Bret (Carmen), her sister Grace Fitch (Harold), her brother Gordon Behrns, her many nieces and nephews and her extended families, the Mordens and Saddlers, the Patersons, the Ardrons and the Silversides. She will be deeply missed by all. A service to celebrate Nan's life will be held at Trinity United Church, 1515-6th Street, in Brandon on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Hurren officiating. A time to visit with the family will follow in the church basement. Flowers are gratefully declined and we ask that memorial donations be sent to Trinity United Church, 1515-6th Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7A 6B3. Messages of condolence may be placed at www.brockiedonovan.com.
