SHURB: Loris Barry Shurb passed away peacefully on June 12, 2009 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre. Barry was born on March 26, 1941 in Leamington, Ontario. Barry married the love of his life, Phyllis (Ostash), on August 30, 1969 and had many happy years together. Barry and Phyllis have two children, Bryan of North Vancouver, B.C. and David of Brandon. Barry will be remembered for his unique sense of humour with a great love of joke-telling, his love of fishing, and his skills as a crib player and dancer. He loved to sing and never let the actual lyrics of a song get in the way. Barry was predeceased by his parents Walter and Florence and is survived by his brother Ron (Bernice) and their children Corinne and Darryl (Teri), sister Linda (Glenn) and their children Tamara, Chad, Jaclyn, and Victoria, and sister Susan (Kevin) and their children Angie (Mark) and Ryan, and many nieces and nephews. Barry’s life was celebrated at a service in the Brockie Donovan Chapel on June 17, 2009 with Father Michael Tkachuk of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church officiating and Barry’s brother, Ron, giving the eulogy.
