BEDDOME: Theresa Marie (LaFreniere) Beddome, beloved wife of Donald Beddome for 55 years of Barons, Alberta, passed into eternal peaceful sleep on Sunday January 18, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Theresa is survived by her children; Carla (John) Morgan of Brandon, Manitoba; Terry (Andessa Menci) Beddome of Redcliff, Alberta; Bruce (Deb) Beddome of Barons; Sharon (Michael) Campbell of Medicine Hat, Alberta; brenda (Andy Fraser) gullickson of Barons; grandmother and great-grandmother to Deanna (Barry) Williamson and Taylor and Sarah; Trevor (Edith) Morgan and Tia-Lee and Trista; Brianne and Michael Beddome; Shelby Ardnt; Bret and Daniel Beddome; Helena (Benton) Bailey and Teagan; Analyn (Chad Cox) Walker and Joey and Tessa; Elora Beddome; Chris (Michelle) Gullickson; Tiffany Gullickson. She is also survived by siblings; Eleanor (Don) Beck; Delores (Gerald) Orton; Dennis (Linda) LaFreniere; Linda (Don) Stewart; and sisters-in-law Mae and Wilma LaFreniere; brothers-in-law Glen (Eileen) Beddome and Elmer (Myrtle) Beddome and sister-in -law Evelyn (George) Fisher. She was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Helena LaFreniere; siblings Joe, Marie-Ange and Raymond; parents-in-law Clifford and Eunice Beddome and a great-granddaughter Kyra Ann Bailey. Theresa was born and raised in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, moved to Brandon in 1967 and in 1974 moved to Alberta, finally settling 3 miles southeast of Barons by Keho Lake.  She owned/operated the Baronial Restaurant in Barons for a few years until 1987 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. In 2003, her cancer metastasized and in 2005 she moved to her “new” home at West Highlands Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta. In the 21 years since diagnosis she enjoyed traveling, participating in the Alberta Senior Games in which she won several medals, serving as President of the Barons Legion Branch #160, President of Barons Seniors, member of Nobleford and Nordbridge Seniors and her favourite hobby of fishing on “her pond” at Keho Lake. A Memorial Service will be held at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel, 56 Royal Road S., Portage la Prairie, on Friday, July 3, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Portage la Prairie. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Barons Memorial United Church: P.O. Box 205, Barons, Alberta, T0L 0G0.
