ALLUM: Christina Elizabeth Allum. It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Christina on June 18, 2009 at the Minnedosa Hospital, at the age of 62 years. Mother of Jason Allum of Vancouver, British Columbia; daughter of Delmar and Clara Harrower (now Westbrook), Brandon, Manitoba; sister of Diana (Dale) Evans, Neepawa, Manitoba; Thomas and John Harrower, Brandon, Manitoba; Jim (Sandra) Harrower, Red Deer, Alberta; Jo-ann (Fred) Buchanan, Justice, Manitoba; daughter-in -law of Kay Allum, Brandon, Manitoba; sister-in-law of Evelyn Skinner, Brandon, Manitoba. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews and special friend Ed Pronchuck of Brandon, Manitoba. Christina was born January 18, 1947 at Minnedosa Hospital. She was raised and attended school in Rapid City, and finished her high school in Brandon. Christina married Kenneth Allum on September 11, 1965. Their chosen son, Jason, arrived on November 25, 1978. After Ken’s passing in 1980, she lived in Souris, then Neepawa and then moved around in Saskatchewan, returning home to Minnedosa in July 2005. Christina loved baking, crocheting, dancing and was a great animal lover. Her greatest pleasure was taking her motorhome to attend country music festivals. There wasn’t a country artist or son she didn’t know. Christina was employed at Minnedosa Heritage Co-op as a baker. Christina was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Allum, father Delmar Harrower and father-in-law Charles Allum. It was Christina’s wish that we celebrate her life with a private family service, which was held on June 23, 2009. Her family were her honorary pallbearers. Christina’s final resting place will be Alexander Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund.“We love you and miss you”
