WITHERSPOON: Passed away at the Portage District General Hospital on Tuesday June 30, 2009 at the age of 91 years, Sylvia Rowland Witherspoon (nee Beech) of Portage la Prairie, formerly of Glenboro, Manitoba. Sylvia leaves to mourn her passing her four children Cheryl (Howard) Barker of Portage la Prairie, Linda (Jack) McKinnon of Carman, Valerie (Ron) Verstraete of Cypress River, Byron (Cathy) of Calgary, Alberta, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Lorne (1982), sisters Winnie (Norman) Williams, Elsie Beech and Ruby (Lorne) Patterson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 4, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Glenboro United Church with Phyllis Mulligan officiating. Interment to follow in the Glenboro Cemetery.
