JUDD: Kathleen Alice. Peacefully on January 5, 2009, Kathleen passed away at Misericordia Health Centre at the age of 93. Kathleen is survived by three daughters Sharon (Clarence) Kitson of Flin Flon, Manitoba, Jill (Peter) Dixon of St. Albert, Alberta Marsha (Dave) Greenhow of Winnipeg, MB; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2004; parents and all siblings. Kathleen was born in Portage la Prairie on July 14, 1915 and moved to Flin Flon in 1939 to marry Dad. They resided there until they retired to Brandon in 1974. After Dads passing in 2004, Mom moved to elderly personal housing at Donwood Manor and resided there until breaking a hip in September 2008. Mom spent the last month on Crocus 2 at Misericordia Interim Care Centre. Mom enjoyed knitting, petite point, crocheting doing crosswords, bingo and reading. She was a member of the North Minister United Church in Flin Flon and also the Central United Church in Brandon. While in Flin Flon she worked as a stenographer at Flin Flon General Hospital. In Brandon she enjoyed volunteering her time at Fairview Home. Family was important to Mom and she always looked forward to visits from her children and grandchildren. The Memorial Service will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332-8th Street, on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood of Central United Church officiating. Interment will take place at the Brandon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathleens memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
