NEWHOUSE: Maxine (Ella) passed away on July 9, 2009 with her family by her side, at the Brandon Regional Health Centre at the age of 72. Maxine was born in Manson, Manitoba on January 2, 1937, the first child born to Frances and Arthur Ebbeling. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bob and three children, Terry (Linda) Newhouse, Darlene (Jeff) Monson, and Cindy (Jeff) Pitt. Grandchildren: Tarren Newhouse, Dawn Monson, Kyle Pitt, and Callie Newhouse. Sister Myrna (Allan) Doerr and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Frances and Arthur Ebbeling, brother Gary Ebbeling. Maxine attended King George Elementary, Earl Haig Middle Years School, and the Manitoba Technical School in Winnipeg where she graduated with a hairdressing license. A year after being married, Maxine and Bob moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA, then returned a short time later to settle in Brandon, Manitoba. She was a homemaker and then became a working partner for over 50 years in the family business "Bob's Safety Service Ltd." known today as Newhouse Engine. In the early years she enjoyed many things including: watching motorcycle or car racing; traveling to various winter vacation spots; made beautiful needlepoint/petit point andpaper tole pictures; gardening with her favorite flowers being orchid and hibiscus; and bowling with the girls. Family pets were very important to her and her most recent pets, Cookie and Cutie were rescued from the cold. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved spending time with them, attending many school concerts and sporting events. The Funeral Service was held at Memories Chapel on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 with Mona Franklin officiating. Private interment was in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearer was Dr. Frank Gunston and Pallbearers were: Ward Dittmer, Ron Kuharski, George Macaulay, Norm Mills, Ken Mauthe and Dylan Ludwig.
