CHALMERS: Frank Chalmers passed away on July 18, 2009 at 74 years of age, at the Lanigan Hospital surrounded by his family. Frank was born on June 7, 1935 in Creelman, Saskatchewan. One of four children born to Les and Mary (Hay) Chalmers, he is predeceased by his sister Merle, and survived by his two brothers, Ron and Harvey (Maureen) in Manitoba. Frank attended school in Belleview, Pipestone and Virden. Frank and Bev married in 1954 and shared 54 years building their family and working hard, while making many terrific memories along the way. The family moved often for work in the early years but settled in Lanigan in 1973. Dad enjoyed his travels, he loved history and through his hobby of researching genealogy has left us with generations of information about our Ancestry. Retiring from the PCS potash mine in 1999 after 26 years; he enjoyed golfing in Lanigan and they often took the clubs with them when they went visiting friends and relatives. They took pride in their large yard and their garden and flowers were lovely. Frank always had a project underway and a job list ready. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Bev (Lifeso) and their four children Brian (Debbie), Pam, Kurt (Lois), and Janice (Germain) – Eleven grandchildren: Adam (Jan), Travis and Troy Mierke, Amy, Shane (Marc), and Alanna (Peter), Bradley (Kyle), Cole and Rebecca, Maddison and Geneva and three great-grandchildren Kaelyn, Hanna and Samantha as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, brother and friend leaves us a legacy of strength, love, determination, laughter and a lifetime of memories. He remains forever in our hearts. The family invites you to join in Celebrating Frank’s life on Sunday July 26 in Lanigan at the Lanigan Golf & Country Club beginning at 11 am. We are very grateful to Dr. Saxena and the professional and compassionate staff that cared for Frank during his brief hospital stay. Memorial donations in Frank’s memory may be directed to the Lanigan Hospital. Malinoski & Danyluik Funeral Home, Humboldt (682-1622) in care of arrangements.
