BROWN: Agnes Adamson. Agnes was born on April 4, 1912 in Cool, Markinch, Scotland. She passed away Monday, July 27, 2009 at Hillcrest Place in Brandon. Agnes was the fourth child of nine children born to Robert and Isabella Imrie. She married William Rennie Brown in July of 1930. They raised five children in Boarhills, Scotland. Her husband Bill, and their two daughters, Isobel and Elisabeth, immigrated to Canada in December of 1953, settling in Waskada, Manitoba. Agnes followed with her daughter, Irene and son, Ian in the Spring of 1955. Their eldest son, William (Willie) remained in Scotland. The family moved to Melita, MB. In 1958, Agnes and her husband Bill, moved to Dauphin, Manitoba. Agnes worked at the Kings Hotel until her retirement in 1977. After the passing of her husband Bill, in September of 1980, Agnes moved to Brandon in 1981 where her daughter Isobel (Ed) Airey resided. Agnes is survived by her eldest son Willie (Mary) Brown of Sleaford Lincs, England; her youngest son Ian (Karen) Brown of Moorhead, MN; daughters Isobel (Ed) Airey, Brandon, Manitoba; Elisabeth (Neil) Burke, Payson, AZ; Irene Brown, Toronto, ON. Granddaughters: Sandra (Jeff) Geraci, West Palm Beach, FL; Susan (Dave) Burgess, Brandon, Manitoba; Shawna (Dean) Airey, Brandon, Manitoba; Brenda (Jason) Reid, Winnipeg, Manitoba; Maureen (Chris) Bogdan, Fargo, ND; Tammy (Marc) Green, Minot, ND; Kayla Brown, Moorhead MN. She was also blessed with 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her very special friends, Helen and Lyle Ramsey, Brandon, Manitoba. A private family service was held at Memories Chapel on Thursday, July 30, 2009 with Rev. Laird Russell-Yearwood officiating. Interment followed in the Rosewood Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Joel and Josh McPhail, Dave Burgess, Ray McPhail, Jason Reid and longtime family friend, George Wakefield. Donations in memory of Agnes may be made to Hillcrest Place Personal Care Home, Recreation Department, 930 26 Street, Brandon, Manitoba, R7B 2B8, or to a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Hillcrest Place for the wonderful care that Mom (Grandma) received over the past three years. We are forever grateful.
