KYLE: Carman Kyle. It is with great sadness we announce Carman Wesley Kyle passed away at the Fairview Home on August 3rd, 2009 in Brandon, Manitoba. Carman was the eldest son of Joseph and Annie (McCormack) Kyle born February 23, 1918 at the Kyle homestead, Sec. 28-4-19 in Morton Municipality. Carman started school at Brown Lea District and after 2 years the family moved to Boissevain for the boys to complete their education. In 1937, the family moved back to the Kyle homestead farm. Carman married Christiena Cameron June 28, 1948. They had 4 children, Harvey, Marie, and the twins, Joanne and Janice. Carman enjoyed farming and his cattle. His farm and family were his life. He served on the Brown Lea District School Board as Secretary Treasurer and a trustee for many years, until the school closed in 1966. Carman was on the Minto Co-op Board for several years. He was a member of the Boissevain United Church for many years. Carman and Chrissie lived on the farm until 1983. They moved to Brandon to live, but continued to farm until 1994. Once Carman and Chrissie retired they had several trips to visit family and friends. They traveled from coast to coast. They continued to square dance for many years. Carman enjoyed many family visits with grandchildren and enjoyed many of his grandchildrens’ soccer and hockey games. Carman is survived by his wife, Chrissie, of 61 years, 4 children and 9 grandchildren: Son Harvey (Barb), Scott and Nicole, daughters, Marie and Lee, Joanne MacAulay (Dwight) and Cameron and Devin, Janice and Carissa, Colin, Jaydee and Wade, brother Jack (Betty), sister-in-law Irene Cameron, several nephews, a niece, as well as a few cousins. Carman was predeceased by his parents Joe and Annie and several sisters and brothers-in-law. A funeral service is to be held at St. Paul’s United Church in Boissevain, August 7, 2009. Rev Cole Gramble is officiating. Interment at Boissevain Cemetery. Pallbearers are Norman Middleton, Brian Hammond, Lloyd Peacock, Cameron MacAulay, Devin MacAulay and Brian Cameron. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carman’s memory to the charity of your choice.
