SLEZAK: Alexander Murray passed away July 17, 2009 at Carberry Hospital with his family by his side. Alex will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his family. Alex was born on September 12, 1930 in the Petrel District of North Cypress. Sixty plus years of Alex’s life was spent farming in the Oberon district except for two years working for Westinghouse at Brandon and Chalk River. He is survived by his soulmate and wife of 50 years, Dianne, his children Debbie (Don) Rea of Carberry, Cathy Slezak of Brandon, and Jim (Heather) of Brandon. Alex is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Karra (Matt) Knol of Carberry, Nici (Jason) Treloar of Winnipeg, Garret Rea of Carberry, Mathew and Kristyn Michaluk of Brandon and Whitney and James Slezak of Brandon. He has 3 great-grandchildren, Zachery, Tyler and Corbin Knol, and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Rose as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Anne, an infant son Raymond, all of his 7 siblings and son-in-law Tom Michaluk. At Alex’s request, cremation has taken place with interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice. White’s Funeral Home, Carberry and Neepawa, in charge of arrangements. To know sorrow is to acknowledge the love that was yours...To carry on with a heart full of memories is to be wholly and lovingly human... To heal, day by day, is to build a bridge of love that will reach far beyond time into forever.
