TERRY: Eldon David Terry (March 17, 1945 July 21, 2009). It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Eldon on July 21, 2009 at the Brandon Assiniboine Centre. Eldon was born in Brandon on March 17, 1945 and raised on the family farm west of Rapid City. He attended Oakleigh School in the R.M. of Saskatchewan and then moved to Brandon where he remained during the course of his life. Eldon earned his living in the construction and labour industry working for various employers in the city. In his free time, he was an avid hunter and fisherman and took great pleasure in the pursuit of his hobbies. Family and friends could always depend on Eldon for lending a helping hand. His kindness and sense of humour will be remembered, and he will be dearly missed by his loved ones. Eldon is survived by his daughter Joanne Whitesell of Winnipeg and her three children; his three sisters Alvina Harder of Banning, CA; Leona White of Calgary, Alberta; and Myrna Walker of Coquitlam, British Columbia; and his two brothers Les of Fosston, Saskatchewan; and Jim of Douglas, Manitoba; as well as several nieces and nephews. Eldon was predeceased by his parents Alice and Oscar and his brother Dennis. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial will be held among family at the Rapid City Cemetery.
