BOEKEMAN-McEVOY: It is with sad hearts that the family of Jennifer Jean (McEvoy) Boekeman announces her passing on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Perth, Western Australia. Jennifer was born on September 4, 1971 to Albert and Georgina, the fourth child and sister to Alison, Ken and Bill. She grew up on the family farm at Alexander. Jennifer attended school at Alexander, Riverheights and Neelin High. Jennifer loved to have fun, and it was while she was having a good time at Dauphin Country Fest in July 1995 that she met Tim Boekeman. Tim was on a work exchange at Wheatbelt Equipment where Jennifer’s brother Ken worked as a mechanic. The rest, as they say, is history. Jennifer and Tim were married at the McEvoy family farm on July 17, 1999. They made their home in Dalwallinu, Western Australia, where Tim ran the family arm of Boekeman Machinery. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Joshua (2002), Keely (2004) and Spencer (2007). Jennifer was diagnosed with cancer in August 2008. She met the challenges of her condition with courage, determination and integrity. She leaves to cherish her memory her Australian family: Husband Tim (Joshua, Keely, and Spencer), parents-in-law Bill and Pam, brothers and sisters-in-law Stuart and Megan (Benjamin, James, Samuel), Andrew and Roslyn (Riley) and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. And her Canadian family: Parents Albert and Georgina McEvoy, sister and brother-in-law Alison and Mark Murray (Alexandra and Julianna), brothers and sisters-in-law Ken and Patti (Lauren and Logan) and Bill and Vreni (Annie, Layah, Sarah) and Auntie Jean Voth (Terry, Valerie), and Uncle Jim Pearson. Jennifer was predeceased by loving grandparents Acey and Sidy McEvoy and George and Mabel Pearson. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jennifer’s life will be held at Alexander United Church on Wednesday, August 19, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers (and because she loved her cats so much) donations in Jennifer’s memory made be made to the Brandon Humane Society.
