CRANDLE: F. Douglas. The death of Doug Crandle, 82 of Brandon, occurred at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on July 1, 2009. He was born in Roland, Manitoba to Alex and Kathryn Crandle, the eldest of three sons. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War. Doug became a highly respected educator teaching in Shoal Lake, Minnedosa, Brandon and Shilo. He served his profession for 36 years. Doug enjoyed working with wood and was an accomplished builder. One of his great interests was attending auction sales where he bought and sold antique items that he greatly enjoyed. Another great interest was the Brandon University basketball teams. He supported them for many years and seldom missed a game or even a practice becoming a father figure to many team members. While teaching in Minnedosa he met Marguerite Andrew. They were married July 6, 1957. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Bob and sister-in-law Julie. He is survived by his wife Marguerite and by his brother Ray and brothers- in-law Harry (Marlene) and Ted (Lois), also numerous nieces and nephews, three special friends, Ernest Bell, Keion Blades and Wardell Smith. A private family service was held at Hamiota Cemetery with Arlene Robertson officiating. The arrangements were made by Campbell’s Funeral Home, Hamiota.
