SCHETTLER: On Sunday, August 16th, 2009, Katherine Irene Schettler of Weyburn, Sask. passed away suddenly at the Regina General Hospital at the age of 54 years. Kathy was predeceased by her father, Glen Schettler and her brother-in-law, Gord Forsyth. Kathy will be lovingly cherished and remembered by her mother, Nola Schettler of Brandon, Manitoba and by her three children and their families: Marcia Schettler of Weyburn, Saskatchewan and her children: Marshall, Morgan and Cameron; Michael (Nicole) Schettler of Regina, Saskatchewan and their children: Bree, Beau, Tatianna and Michael; and Murray Schettler of Regina, Saskatchewan; long time loving partner, Kevin Tremblay; brothers and sisters: Tom (Eva) Schettler of Calgary, Alberta Geraldine (Jake) Fehr of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bernadine (Roland) Bursey of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Bryan (Julia) Schettler of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and David (Paula) Schettler of Kleefield, Manitoba; as well as many nieces and nephews. Katherine Irene Schettler was born December 11th, 1954 at Broadview, Saskatchewan. She was the second child of six born to very loving and caring parents, Glen and Nola Schettler. She enjoyed playing and spending time with her siblings and her childhood friend, Myrna, with whom she has remained friends through the years. She took her education in Broadview, then moved to Regina for a brief time, then to Wakaw, Saskatchewan. She held various jobs in her early years including waitress and cashier. She moved to Brandon, Manitoba when her children were young. In the ‘90’s, Kathy received her certificate as a Health Care Aid in Brandon. She enjoyed her job as a Health Care Aid where she could help other people. She attended church regularly in the early years and was in the church choir. She enjoyed taking care of people, gardening, cooking and reading. She also was involved with her community by canvassing for Cancer and Diabetes. In 1998 Kathy moved to Red Deer, AB and to Weyburn, Saskatchewan in 2000. She loved to spend time with her family who were very important to her. She also loved to help other people no matter who they were, she was a very compassionate and caring person. She always made people feel good about themselves. Kathy will be deeply missed by all she knew and loved. Funeral Services were held Friday, August 21st, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, Saskatchewan with Pastor Martin Olson officiating. Interment will be at a later date. The Pallbearers were: Thomas Schettler, Bryan Schettler, David Schettler, Leonard Rowley, Hank Robertson and Wes Hes. Arrangements were entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Chapels Ltd., Weyburn, Saskatchewan, 306-842-5432.
